Review: The Big Short (2015)

The Big Short

The Big Short is about a Wall Street guru, who realizes that the housing market will inevitably crash in the United States. After throwing over $1billion dollars into the scheme, it begins to attract attention from other greedy bankers and together they stand to make a fortune. The drama stars Christian Bale, Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt with direction and writing of the feature falling to director Adam McKay.

With a perfect blend of satirical comedy and character building drama, The Big Short has it all. You add a talented actor in Steve Carrell, who is making a great switch to more serious roles, together with experienced drama actors like Christian Bale and Brad Pitt and you have yourself a movie. All performances in the film are on point, and take nothing away from Ryan Gosling who has little screen time, as he plays his part perfectly too. A well balanced, funny drama that strangely has you routing for the very people that will make millions, The Big Short is a must see film!
