Review: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015)

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is again directed by Francis Lawrence who reprises his role for the final instalment of the Hunger Games series. Suzanne Collins’ adapted work sees the conclusion of the story revolving around the overthrowing of President Snow as the dictator on Panem by the rebels. Mockingjay – Part 2 sees the return of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Julianne Moore, Donald Sutherland, and Woody Harrelson to name just a few!
I read the whole book series before watching the conclusion of this film series, and the film does very well in adapting Suzanne Collins’ work on screen. It’s dark conclusion isn’t perhaps as well depicted on screen as the books, but I guess you have to remind yourself of the consistent tone of the series has to emit. Jennifer Lawrence continues to impress in most of her projects, and her consistent performance in Mockingjay – Part 2 has to be applauded. The film brings together consistency with a satisfying conclusion to a series that was well directed, adapted and performed. If you haven’t checked out The Hunger Games, make sure you do, you won’t be disappointed!
