Directed by Daniel Alfredson, The Girl Who Played with Fire is the sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and based on the “Millennium series” by Stieg Larsson. The crime thriller sees the return of Noomi Rapace, Michael Nyqvist, Lena Endre and Peter Andersson. The film is about a Swedish news reporter, who launches an article about sex trafficking that will incarcerate many high ranking political figures. The film is both entertaining and powerful, if you saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, you will definitely enjoy this one. I feel this film is getting to know the characters more, rather than tell you a story that is as intense and clever as first. A sequel that sets up nicely for the third, its shortcomings not negating what remains a good, entertaining film.
There are no innocents. There are, however, different degrees of responsibility. – Stieg Larsson
